Johnson Matthey Gold Serial Number Lookup
Notable Differences • Genuine Johnson-Matthey bars have a stamped serial number on the front of the bar. This box is most commonly left blank on counterfeit bars, or may have a laser-etched serial number instead of a stamped serial number. • The counterfeit bar has an extra partial logo box along the top edge that is not present on the genuine bar. NOTE: Some older genuine Johnson-Matthey bars do have this partial logo box, but the modern production bars stocked by most dealers today do not have this partial logo.
Discussion & Detection This counterfeit Johnson-Matthey bar very closely matches the genuine bar dimensions, with the exception of being noticeably thicker than a genuine bar. The raised lettering has a slightly more matte finish on the fake bar, but is still a close match. The most obvious visual indicator is the lack of a serial number (or a laser-etched serial number instead of a stamped serial number).
The extra partial logo box on the back of the bar is also a warning to very carefully test the bar, as this partial logo is only present on some older genuine bars, and is not present on the majority of genuine bars on the market today. The fake is very convincing, but easily detected by the. All information presented on FakeBullion.com is for entertainment purposes only. Bars were hand-poured by Johnson Matthey refiners. Stamped with Johnson Matthey logo, purity, and weight. Includes an individual serial number on the bars obverse. Stamped with the name of Johnson Matthey and its logo elegantly scrolled, each 100 oz Johnson Matthey Silver Bar also depicts stamps denoting its 100 troy ounces as well as its.999 silver purity. Anyone else have experience or thoughts on JM missing serial numbers? The capsules made me even more suspect as I saw it as a testing.

I thought serial numbers were usually put on larger bars only. Usually 50oz bars have s/n.but some not. All 100oz and above have s/n.generally.
Anything below 50oz probably sometimes has s/n. For example.Kitco 10oz Silver has s/n. But its.9999 pure too. If you must account for the bars.its important to have a way to do that.to identify the bars uniquely in paperwork and records.otherwise its generally 'pool' PM. You could always stencil in your own markings.
Last edited by HardlyPeeved; at 04:08 AM. I just picked up a Johnson Matthey 20oz bar with 999+ and JMLTD. Canada Assay Office stamped on it, it looks and feel like silver but it has not serial number which is pretty odd for Johnson Matthe. Has anyone else seen any 20 ounce JM bars with no serial? Is it the bank putting the serials on these or is it JM putting the serials? You can check out for picture of 20oz JM bars with and without serial numbers. JM is inconsistent about serial numbers; even their 100oz bars often do not have them, whereas most of their 1oz bars do. Test strukturi intellekta amthauera blank otvetov.
Engelhard has serial numbers on most (but not all) of their bars. For other mints/refiners, it varies quite a bit (there are lots of 100oz bars with no serial number, for example).
